Carol will demonstrate the various hand building and surface design techniques she uses to achieve unusual complex forms with rich colourful surfaces. Along with her signature plaster segment mold process, wood drop molds, slip cast molds, constructing forms with tar paper, and laminating forms with clay texture slabs, Carol will approach surface design using slips for texture, layering colors and patterns with underglazes, carving, wax inlay, wax resist, shellac resist, image transfer techniques, and accentuating surface texture with stains on bisque ware.
